BMP-Casio II
Overview
Have you ever wanted to send that picture of your friend on your calculator? Do you think that the inner drawing mode of the Casio is too clumsy? I do! That's why I created BMP-Casio: I create pictures on my computer with my favourite image editor, I translate them in Casio language with BMP-Casio, and then I send them with FX-Interface. It's as easy as sending an e-mail!
For now...
... the program is working, but only one coding mode is present (horizontal coding). It means that if you have a picture full of |||, it will produce a huge file, instead of a really small one... Apart from that, BMP-Casio II offers a really handy feature: you may know that on a Casio only three colors are available (blue, green, and some ugly orange). When editing your pictures, you may forget to note the hex values of these colors...
That's the purpose of the Color finder: just click on the appropriate button, and the BMP-Casio will list all the colors on the image, and you'll be able to associate them with the four available colors (black + the 3 other ones ; black is coded as blue, but it's only for old calculators).
After converting the picture, you'll be prompted to save the result in a text file. Afterwards, you will need to reload this file in a communication software and to send it to the calculator (or you can type it in if you want, but it may take hours).
Requirements
All you need is a computer (hmmm... I suppose you have one if you read this), a Casio calculator that allows communication (if it has no hole on the base, don't even try), a communication tool such as FX-Interface or FA-122 or 123. But most of all, you will need a cable !!!
Personnaly I didn't have one until I found the plans on the net ; while in France it is sold 450FF (about 65$), I built one for 100FF (15$) !!! I have found the plans here (French page, English can be found easily).
